Δεν είναι εύκολο ως λευκοί να καταλάβουμε αυτό που συμβαίνει στην Αμερική τις τελευταίες ημέρες. Δεν είναι εύκολο να αντιληφθούμε τι κάνει τα σώματα των μαύρων να τρέμουν, τις φωνές τους σπάνε, να κυλιούνται στους δρόμους, να ουρλιάζουν, να κλαίνε, να αγανακτούν, να τρέμει η φωνή τους. Να πέφτουν στα γόνατα μπροστά από ένστολους αστυνομικούς. Και επειδή δεν είναι εύκολο πρέπει να τους ακούσουμε. Να ακούσουμε τα συναισθήματα πίσω από τις φωνές. Να δούμε τις εικόνες πίσω από τις μνήμες τους και την ιστορία των προγόνων τους. Να αντιληφθούμε το τι σημαίνει να ζεις ως μαύρος ακόμη και σήμερα στις ΗΠΑ. Για τα να καταφέρουμε πρέπει να εκπαιδευτούμε. Να διαβάσουμε τους συγγραφείς τους και τους ποιητές τους. Να ακούσουμε τα τραγούδια και τους στίχους τους. Να τους δούμε να χορεύουν. Να ακούσουμε τις ιστορίες τους.
Έχουμε ήδη συγκεντρώσει στο ELLE.GR βιβλία από μαύρους συγγραφείς που έχουν γράψει για το ρατσισμό και του τι σημαίνει να είσαι μαύρος στην Αμερική. Ακολουθούν μερικά τραγούδια που κάνουν ακριβώς το ίδιο. Μας κάνουν να δούμε με τα μάτια τους, να ακούσουμε με τα αυτιά τους, να φοβηθούμε τους φόβους τους, να ιδρώσουμε από το θυμό τους, να μείνουμε στις γειτονιές τους, να έχουμε αγωνία για τα παιδιά τους, να νιώσουμε την απογοήτευση και να ζητήσουμε για αυτούς ό, τι ζητούν: Ανάσα. Σεβασμό. Δικαιοσύνη.
